This is a Wati Kutjarra story from Tjirrkarli. Two men were sitting near the river, living on seeds and small food. They stayed there for a long time, watching and waiting. One day, they saw a woman walking along the river carrying a large haul of bush food on her head — mirrka, including yams. She had gathered good food from the Country. The two men wanted that food. They followed her and speared her, taking the yams for themselves. This story is connected to that place at Tjirrkarli and remains in the Country today.
