Our very own Papulankutja Artists will be heading to WA Museum Boola Bardip to showcase their artwork this Saturday 18th April! We’re especially proud to share that the lovely Paula Lyons and Nora Nyutjanka Davidson are featured as the poster artists for this year’s event. Opportunities like this mean so much, allowing us to share original artworks directly with the public, with all proceeds supporting our artists and the Blackstone community. With artworks available at a range of price points, there’s something for everyone! We can’t wait to see you there. Spinifex paper is more than just paper!! it’s a pr Spinifex paper is more than just paper!! it’s a process deeply connected to the Blackstone Community 🌾 First developed in Blackstone in the late 1990s, Spinifex paper is handmade using native grass harvested on Country and transformed through a slow, sustainable process. From collecting and preparing the fibres, to pressing and drying each sheet, every step is done by hand. Now, Papulankutja Artists, with the support of BHP and the wider Blackstone community, are bringing this practice back — reviving an important initiative that blends traditional knowledge, creativity, and skill-sharing across generations. Our artists recently travelled across the desert t Our artists recently travelled across the desert to Tjukurla to partner with Tjarlirli Art in sharing knowledge, strengthening skills and continuing culture through art with the AACHWA “Our Country Moves” initiative.   Our talented artists, Paula Lyons-Jones and Kira Porter worked with the Tjarlirli Art team to train young art workers, focusing on core skills such as canvas stretching, colour mixing, and photo cataloguing. Thank you to AACHWA for this initiative – we had a great time!  Our Country Moves is an Aboriginal Art Centre Hub of WA (AACHWA) initiative that empowers Aboriginal art centres to promote, empower and connect themselves on Country and artistically.
