Desert Birds or affectionately known as Bush Turkey are a popular bird on the Ngaanyatjarra Lands for their poultry and decorative plumage. In this artwork, Dorothy depicts the bush turkeys feeding and nesting in the tree above. It is important to honour the life cycles of all living things, to only have what is needed. We are mindful to let the bush turkey breed and grow during the nesting season so that there will always be plenty of them to continue their life cycle and the influence they have on ours in sharing culture and keeping nourished.
