Ooldea and Cooribbe (Desert and the Sea)

This painting shows the connection between the desert and the sea, from Ooldea to Cooribbe. People travel and live between these two places, hunting and camping on both sides.

In the middle is the central campsite, where families camp out. Blue lines flow out from this centre—tracks leading to hunting spots, toward the sea, where people fish, and toward the desert, where wombats are hunted.

This work reflects life in Yalata, South Australia—living between Country, hunting, travelling, and camping.
